In this episode I talk about the importance of internalising your success.
So many of you are clocking up success after success without taking a moment to internalise their value. Is it any wonder then, that no matter how hard you work or how much you succeed, you still believe your success is down to luck and you question your right to be here?
The message I have for you this week is that your successes won’t internalise themselves! It’s up to you to take responsibility for your every success (and for recognising what success is) and then take deliberate action to internalise it.
My goal for you is that you start showing up to challenges and opportunities from where you are, instead of from where you think you should be. “Internalising your success”, which is part of the process for creating your Imposter SpeechTM, is the strategy I created to help you do this.
When you know how to internalise your success, it won’t matter that your Imposter Syndrome surfaces as you face a new challenge. The easy recollection of all those successes and achievements that led you here will give you the courage and confidence to show up to the challenge from where you are.
Questions to get you reflecting on your success:
- What is your definition of a success?
- How long do you wait before you chase the next success?
- What have you done with your past successes?
